No Need for Wining
Next time you want to add a splash of wine or extra
herbs and spices to a jarred pasta sauce, you can save
the bottle to drink with dinner and leave the
seasonings in the cupboard. A new line of gourmet
sauces includes not only wine, but an array of
ingredients beyond the usual tomatoes and garlic.
Vino de Milo all-natural gourmet sauces are sugar-free
and low calorie, contain no saturated fat and they
need no doctoring. There are currently six flavors
available, each containing a different varietal wine:
Bombay Cabernet, Portobello Shiraz, Mediterranean
Pinot Grigio, Tuscan Merlot, North African Pinot Noir,
and Spicy North African Pinot Noir. The Cabernet
Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Merlot used in the sauces are
from California central coast producers, and the Pinot
Grigio and Pinot Noir are from Trentino, a
northeastern province of Italy. Created in small
batches with fresh ingredients such as artichoke
hearts and olives, the sauces work as well on lamb as
they do on linguine. They're available online at
www.miloswholeworld.com and in several metropolitan
markets.
